Latest Updates from Our Project:

Fulfillment date and digital files!
8 months ago – Sun, Aug 20, 2023 at 04:11:40 AM

Hi everyone! The team and I have been very hard at work with this new manufacturer, and we're so pleased to say that production is finally back on track. We're now targeting November/December for fulfillment.

This break in production has been necessary to give us the time to evaluate completed samples from our new manufacturer to ensure quality on all pledges. The manufacturing hiccup was completely unexpected and forced us to pivot to a different manufacturer. Full disclosure: we scrapped an entire printing of Tarotorial Expanded with our previous manufacturer due to those quality concerns, which is a cost we're consuming to ensure that things are where they need to be. We refuse to send you something that we don't have full confidence in, so that was a cost we were happy to absorb to ensure quality standards are met. Having these samples produced, shipped, and evaluated took time, but getting where we are right now was worthwhile. I understand that some of you are frustrated with the time needed to do this, but I assure you we're moving everything as quickly as possible. We appreciate those of you who have been understanding and sticking with us on this!

Some have asked about updating shipping addresses: You can update your shipping address in BackerKit. Here's a tutorial on how to do that: https://help.backerkit.com/article/638-how-do-i-update-my-shipping-address. If you need help updating your address, send me a message and I'll be happy to help!

Digital Files: As a reminder, we were holding off on releasing the digital files before we had a concrete ETA on the arrival of the physical units, per the recommendation of our legal team. We've had ongoing issues with our IP (intellectual property) being stolen, so this has been a necessary precaution as indie publishers. Now that we have a clearer ETA for the shipments, I'm happy to announce the cards and journal digital files will be posted later on today. Our legal team is advising us on some legal disclaimers to add to the book, but that will be wrapping up in the next few days, and the digital file will be released thereafter. Watch your inbox for directions on accessing those digital files later this afternoon.

Many thanks everyone for your continued patience! I know this has been a trying period while you all wait, but we feel more confident about the quality as we move forward.

July 2023 Update
10 months ago – Sun, Jul 02, 2023 at 10:47:20 AM

Hey all -

No massive update to post here. We're still working through production and have onboarded another manufacturer to help get all of this wrapped up after having an astounding number of issues with the first manufacturer.

I know you all want an expected delivery date, but we're not quite there just yet. I'm tentatively thinking Q3 or Q4 of this year.

Thanks again for the patience as we work to get this to the finish line.

We’re moving as quickly as possible

Hi everyone —

I realize that you’re all very eager to get the pledges you’ve been waiting for. As I’ve mentioned in several updates, in responses to comments, etc — we are moving this along as quickly as possible.

I will be releasing the digital files as soon as we get a concrete ETA on delivery of the final pledge items from the manufacturer. We’ve had many issues with opportunists that have attempted to use our printables to release pirated copies of our decks in the past, and I want to ensure that the physical copies aren’t far behind when those printables are released.

Again, I realize the delays aren’t ideal. No one is more frustrated about this than I am — my name and reputation are tied to this. But delays do happen in Kickstarters. This isn’t an intentional delay. Trust me — this has been one of the most stressful things I’ve ever done, and I highly doubt we’ll do another Kickstarter in the future because of it. I’ve had some folks from this Kickstarter send threats because we’re delayed, and that boggles my mind. Some message me every day with a slew of insults. Again, I just want to ensure that all delivered items are 100% up to the standard you all expect. That’s all. There’s no ploy here.

Tarotorial Classic was always printed by our team, in house. Exporting this to another manufacturer was a very nerve wracking thing to do. I never expected there to be so many issues with this black holographic foil.

I anticipate getting an ETA on the delivery of the remaining pledges within a few weeks. Once that happens, we’ll be shipping things out and sending out the digital files for download.

I’m sorry for the delay, everyone. I truly am moving this along as quickly as possible. Please just bear with us a little bit longer.

We're working on the quality issues!
about 1 year ago – Wed, Apr 26, 2023 at 08:14:44 AM

Hi all!

Just another quick update that we're working on the quality issues with the supplier. We're nearly there! The black holo foil is proving to be a bit trickier than expected on these card edges, and we want to ensure that you all receive the best product possible. I hope to have more updates for everyone shortly!

Thanks for your continued patience!

Shipping update 1!
about 1 year ago – Mon, Mar 27, 2023 at 04:39:12 PM

Hello all —

We’re inching closer to getting pledges shipped, but there is a bit of an unexpected delay. When reviewing a few elements of the larger deck during final inspection, we noticed imperfections in the black foil edges on some randomly inspected decks and guidebooks. This is something that the printer raised in their quality checks, so I have full confidence that they’re on top of it and have a plan to correct it. Essentially, it looks like the foil didn’t adhere completely in some areas. The imperfections aren’t extensive, but both sides are being sticklers for quality. This isn’t something that has impacted the full line of products produced thus far, but it does mean that the printer will need to go back to correct some of the foiling that wasn’t up to our mutual standards. I’m getting video and photo updates from the printer regularly just to be sure of the quality, so rest assured that I’m on top of it!

We have pledge items trickling in, so we’re working to get things organized and ready to ship out. Because of this quality delay, we’re going to be shipping in batches as things arrive. Some of you may get your items soon, and some may get them after a few more weeks.

All items shipped to you will absolutely have the quality you expect, so don’t fret! It may just take a bit longer for some folks to receive their pledges. This delay is just to ensure that all items have a chance to be inspected for quality.

Because of this, I’m extending the shipping date expectation to May 30, just to be on the safe side. Again, we’ll be able to ship some pledges much sooner than the new timeline expectation. I just want to make sure I’m being transparent and giving a wide enough cushion of expected arrival for you all.

I so appreciate your patience! I’ll be posting another update shortly about the digital item distribution and how to access the digital downloads.

And finally, for those that have reached out with shipping address questions — you will have a chance to adjust your shipping address before your pledge goes out. As the team and I are working on batching pledge shipments, BackerKit will automate an email to you that will ask you to confirm your address. If you have any trouble making adjustments when that time comes, we’ll be happy to assist!

As always, feel free to message me here, comment below, or email me directly with any questions ([email protected]).

I appreciate you all!
